    Criteria for victory:

    • A bot is declared victorious in that particular round if its opponent is immobilized and the round will be finished at that point of time.
    • A bot is declared immobilized if it cannot display any kind of linear motion of one inch for a time period of 30 seconds. A bot with one side of its drive train disabled will not be counted out if it can demonstrate some degree of controlled movement. In case both the robots remain mobile after the end of the round then the winner will be decided subjectively.
    • If a robot is thrown into the hole in centre of arena that particular round will stop immediately, and the robot still inside the arena will automatically be declared as the winner for that round.
    • Robots cannot win by pinning or lifting their opponents. Organizers will allow pinning or lifting for a maximum of 25 seconds per pin/lift then the attacker robot will be instructed to release the opponent. If, after being instructed to do so, the attacker bot is not able to release its opponent, their robot may be disqualified. If two or more robots become entangled or a crushing or gripping weapon is employed and becomes trapped within another robot, then the competitors should make the timekeeper aware, the fight should be stopped and the bots separated by the safest means.
    • Points will be given on the basis of aggression, damage, control and strategy.
    • Aggression: Aggression is judged by the frequency, severity, boldness and effectiveness of attacks deliberately initiated by the robot against its opponent. If a robot appears to have accidentally attacked an opponent, that act will not be considered Aggression.
    • Control: Control means a robot is able to attack an opponent at its weakest point, use its weapons in the most effective way, and minimize the damage caused by the opponent or its weapons.
    • Damage: Through deliberate action, a robot either directly or indirectly reduces the functionality, effectiveness or defensibility of an opponent. Damage is not considered relevant if a robot inadvertently harms itself. Also, if a pressure vessel or a rapidly spinning device on a robot fragments, any damage to the opponent will not be considered "deliberate".

    • Qualification of a bot to next level is subjective and totally on the decision of the judges. A bot winning in a round against its opponent doesn’t guarantee its entrance into the next round. If the judges found the winner bot incompetent to enter into the next round, it may get disqualified. Judges can disqualify both the bots of a match from advancing to the next round. All the decisions taken by the judges will be final and binding to all. Any queries afterwards will not be entertained.

    • If you have a bot or weapon design that does not fit within the categories set forth in these rules or is in some way ambiguous or borderline, please contact the event organizers. Safe innovation is always encouraged, but surprising the organizers with your brilliant exploitation of a loophole may cause your robot to be disqualified before it even competes.
    • Each event has safety inspections. It is at their sole discretion that your robot is allowed to compete. As a builder you are obligated to disclose all operating principles and potential dangers to the inspection staff.
    • All weapons must have a safety cover on any sharp edges.
    • Any kind of activity (repairing, battery handling, etc.) which may cause damage to the surroundings during the stay of the teams in the competition area should not be carried out without the consent of organizers. Not following this rule may result in disqualification.
    • All the resources provided at the time of competition from the organizers should be strictly used only after the consent of the organizers.
    • Once the bots have entered into the arena, no team member can enter into the arena at any point of time. In case if a fight has to be halted in between and some changes have to be done in the arena or condition on the bot(s), it will be done by organizers only.

Have you ever sat gazing at the marvels of civil engineering spread across the pages of history and wondered, "HOW do they do it?"
If you have an inexplicable passion for structural engineering, then this one is for you.
    "Build the STRONGEST BRIDGE"

    Problem Statement:

Model a small scale bridge of specified dimensions.

    Bridge Specifications:

    • The dimensions of deck should be as follows:
      Length : 600-650mm
      Width : 200-250mm
    • There should be a clear space of 5cm on both sides of deck at centre. The space should be such that a rod of diameter approx. 5cm can be placed along the width as shown in figure. Loading will be applied to the ends of rod.
    • Materials should be as specified below.

    Testing:

    • The bridge will be placed between two tables separated by a distance of 400mm.

    • Three sections of wire with insulation free ends. This will be standard wire suitable for your bulb holder.

Material you are supposed to have:

    • Type of solution and its specific amount
    • Fevicol.

    CHEMICAL REACTION OPTIONS:

The students may use any chemical reaction that can be safely operatedindoors. Entries using open flames or reactions that release smoke or spray will be disqualified. The Officials have the right to rule that a chemical reaction is unsafe for indoor operation. Since no fume hood will be available, chemicals must not require the use of a fume hood. Any dilutions should be done before transporting chemicals to the site. A container for the disposal of acids will be provided, but entrants must make arrangements for the disposal of other chemicals. Sample ideas: Students may use gas- producing reactions and harness the gas to turn the light bulb off. A wire in the circuitry may be dipped in acid, which will react with the wire and eventually break the circuit. An iodine clock reaction may be used to trigger a switch. The entry must not leave any residue on the table orsurrounding area. The entry must not spill any liquids or release any sprays. The light bulb should not be turned offby destroying it.

    COMPETITION SPECIFICATIONS:

    • During all phases of the competition, the decisions of the Judges are FINAL.
    • Students may bring not more than 250 mL of each chemical. Chemicals must be transported safely to the site – unsafe transportation will result in disqualification. Each container must be clearly and legibly labeled with the name of the chemical, the concentration, the student’s name, the college name and a phone number. Print as many of the labels below as needed and tape to the containers. Chemicals must be brought to the event table immediately upon arrival and will be stored there until the group is ready to leave. Bring enough chemicals for two or more than two runs .

    JUDGING AND SCORING:
